Originally this was an automated post. I decided to change it after playing around with the site and deciding it was time to post something of significance.

Like our “About” section states, we’re merely here to document our lives. If anyone decided to take a look and find it funny or worth reading at all, that’s a win in our book. We’ve been talking about getting the site up and running for awhile, but never really got down to doing it. It’s not that we weren’t dedicated or didn’t want to follow through, but we just didn’t have the time.

Like most things, the idea for it came from months of drunken discussions with friends about how awesome owning a bar would be, or how someone is a pussy for not hooking up with a sure thing… manly topics. We got the idea after “time travelling” most nights while we were living in Manhattan, KS. We were going out around 10 pm and returning at around 3 am, not remembering what happened with 5 lost hours. The only reasonable explanation was that we were time travelling. The idea would be to keep a log during our night lives, that we seldom remember. You’re probably thinking, “If you can’t remember than how are you going to write it down?” That’s a great question. You know how the next morning you wake up and only remember certain things about the night prior? Often my memory is refreshed by a half eaten Jimmy John’s sandwich, or a spilt over red Solo cup – we call these artifacts. We use the artifacts to piece together clues of what took place. If you combine the collective pieces of memory from several people, you end up with an almost accurate recount of the activities from the night prior. That’s not to say that something’s are left out or exaggerated, but they are true for the most part.

So if you’ve gotten this far, you’re probably wondering where “The Ignorance” came from. It originated a few years ago when our group started calling each other ignorant mother fuckers, and started describing the things we did as ignorant. Not in the sense that we were ignorant at how to drink beer and lay waste to a small town’s local nightlife scene, but in the ebonically correct adaptation of the word – ignant. An ignant person became some one that had no regard for personal safety or decorum, someone that personified a mother’s worst nightmare. We had several discussions about killing the word, or using another word to describe ourselves fearing that it would get old in its frequent usage.

After a few years, the word lives on and we’re still dedicated to maintaining the standard that it represents. Hopefully you’ll find humor in some of these stories, and if not then you’ll learn from our mistakes.
